Sedna is an XML database developed by the Institute for System Programming of the Russian Academy of Sciences (RAS)—an organization chartered by the Russian government, consisting of a variety of research institutes from all over the Russian Federation. Sedna is free and open source, with persistent storage, search capabilities and ACID compliance. Like other XML databases, Sedna supports W3C XQuery language.
