Pentaho Corporation, the open source business intelligence (BI) leader, today announced the availability of a new Pentaho plug-in bringing interactive analytics to Apple iPad business users. More than 1 million iPads have already been sold in the U.S., and it is increasingly being adopted by demanding and mobile professionals world-wide. Pentaho is the first vendor to provide these users an easy and intuitive way to create new analytical reports from scratch, as well as navigate and access existing business intelligence information from the iPad. The Pentaho plug-in for the iPad is available for download at www.pentaho.com/iPad.
Pentaho is the first to deliver ad hoc analytical reporting for the Apple iPad. The plug-in extension to Pentaho's BI platform lets iPad users create new analytical reports with Pentaho Analyzer via iPad's touch-and-drag screen and Analyzer's zero-training user interface.
The Pentaho iPad extension allows users to access information anywhere, anytime and find the answers they need by creating new analytical reports on the fly. Pentaho Analyzer on the iPad provides ad hoc query and data visualization capabilities with rich interactivity and secure content distribution. New analytical reports created on the iPad can be saved and shared enterprise-wide through Pentaho's BI platform.
The Pentaho iPad extension is another deliverable of the Pentaho Agile BI initiative, aimed at simplifying the use of BI for a much wider set of users across the enterprise, resulting in faster time to value and increased ROI. Availability -- Pentaho's BI extension for iPad works with Pentaho BI Suite Enterprise Edition 3.6 RC1.
"We've always been believers in Mobile BI as evidenced by being the first to support the iPhone and now the first to support ad-hoc analysis for the iPad," said Richard Daley, co-founder and CEO of Pentaho Corporation. "With technology like Analyzer, any business user can create reports in a couple of minutes with just the touch of a finger. It doesn't get much easier than this."
