Pentaho Corporation, the open source business intelligence (BI) leader, today announced that a new business intelligence market study by Dresner Advisory Services, The Wisdom of Crowds Business Intelligence Market Study™, has ranked Pentaho number one across all categories for value and consulting services, and 100 percent of the Pentaho customers who responded recommended the company. The survey was created as a way to give a voice to those actually using BI solutions, offering a new and different perspective for measuring BI vendors and products in the market.
"I'd like to thank our customers for their positive review of our technology and services showing that we are the clear leader in open source BI," said Richard Daley, CEO of Pentaho. "When we founded this company, we set out to revolutionize the industry by creating a complete BI solution at a cost effective price. Large vendors who once discounted us are now paying close attention, as customer surveys like this show that Pentaho Enterprise Business Intelligence makes it easy for customers to gain the competitive edge they need without investing exorbitant amounts of time and money."
For the survey, BI vendors were grouped into three categories -- Titans, Established Pure-Play, and Emerging Vendors -- and were judged on various criteria in six areas: sales/acquisition experience, value for price paid, quality and usefulness of product, quality of technical support, quality and value of consulting services, and whether the vendor is recommended by its customers:
-- Pentaho, in the Emerging Vendor category, was ranked against six other vendors and received the top ranking in value for the price paid and quality of consulting services.
-- •Pentaho is the clear leader in OSBI ranking above other OSBI vendors in every category.
-- Pentaho received the second highest marks overall among BI vendors.
-- 100 percent of responding customers recommended Pentaho.
"The Business Intelligence market is growing and shifting as organizations around the globe look to suppliers who can provide lower cost and easy-to-deploy solutions. The Emerging Vendors that have adapted to this changing reality well have received high marks from their customers," said Howard Dresner, president and founder of Dresner Advisory Services.
