Star Schema

AKA:

A star schema is the most basic organizational configuration of facts (quantifiable events) and dimensions (data describing events) in a data warehouse or data mart, and is called a “star schema” because of it’s shape when diagrammed—depicting a central fact, surrounded on multiple sides by corresponding dimensions.
