Dictionary Term

Role-Playing Dimension

AKA:

A role-playing dimension is a dimension in a database that shares congruent data with another dimension. For example, two tables might each contain “day of the month” data or “customer name” data.

Because of this congruence, role-playing dimensions can often have a variety of applications for a single fact or in a single database.
