Redundancy

In information technology, redundancy describes efforts made to back up the vital hardware and software needed to run a computer(s) or a network of computers. Redundancy is common practice in most organizations, where IT overseers make sure that secondary drives, switches, data disks etc. are always on hand in case primary units fail.
