Online Transaction Processing

Online transaction processing (OTLP) is software processing that makes it possible to receive data and complete transactions (especially retrieval transactions) in real time. OLTP is used widely in business, especially in industries that receive a steady stream of customer data and requests requiring a timely response. Businesses such as banks, airlines, and online merchants have been using OTLP for years.
