Distributed Database

AKA:

A distributed database is a database that contains data stored in multiple, distinct processing units that can be located in different places—in the same building, across a city, or wherever the various processing units in a network happen to reside. Distributed databases can inhabit multiple servers, the Internet, computer processors, or any location where data can stored and accessed.
