Data integration is the act of aggregating diversely structured data from different sources and making all data available to users in a uniform format. As technology makes it possible to gather, store, and analyze bigger data sets than ever before, and as organizations rely more upon data for understanding and decision-making, data integration is becoming a regular part of common events like company mergers inter-organizational collaboration.
