Data Element

AKA:

A data element is the most basic unit of data. Large data sets and databases, from which analyses are conducted and business intelligence conclusions are drawn, are constructed from many data elements. For example, in a database a single piece of simple data such as a date, the name of an item in an inventory, or an identification number would all be considered data elements.
